discussing developmental disabilities
Developmental Disability
A developmental disability (DD) can be described as genetic or chromosomal disorder i.e. Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Such conditions can range from mild, to moderate to severe and are most often present during prenatal development.
Including Everyone
When people with developmental disabilities are included in their own communities, everyone benefits: they feel self-sufficient, their families are relieved and the community itself gains an active participant.
